Our primary objective is to keep our history alive by honouring all those associated with this Institution over the past 140 plus years. Tribute is paid to their unique contributions that helped develop exemplary mental health care for Manitoba.
Our StoryWe are a volunteer driven non-profit organization. Our primary focus is the preservation of the Selkirk Mental Health Centre ‘s historical artefacts and legacy.The Archive committee was formed in 1999 to gather and preserve over 140 years plus of rich history of Manitoba’s psychiatric / mental health care.Tours of the archives may be arranged through contacting the Committee’s Secretary by using the “Contact Us” tab above.The archives are located in the Administration building; former School of Nursing and nurses residence. We have 3 rooms of memorabilia, scrap books, newspaper clippings, uniforms, grad pins and photographs.
